This month we hosted our first graduation ceremony for those completing two years of our Family Success Program! It was an inspiring night as we celebrated the many goals accomplished and heard from two program participants. We appreciate your support that made it possible for the families in our program to move FORWARD!
A special thanks goes to their Family Liaison mentors who dedicated 4-6 hours of their valuable time each month to check-in, support, and encourage each family partner as they worked toward economic mobility. The power of mentorship and social capital (who you know) is life-changing! The families we serve state that their Family Liaison mentor is the most impactful part of our program. Having support and guidance makes all the difference!

Power of Partnerships
WSOC and reporter Gina Esposito highlighted our new partnership with Charlotte Family Housing in this story. Watch to see how our organizations are coming together to support families as they face increased housing instability due to rising housing costs and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Give Stability to a Local Family
Are you looking to give in a meaningful and intentional way?
Your on-going support means: More families served with mentorship! More life skills education! More essential needs (like housing and transportation) fulfilled! And more support as families gain stability!
A Resting Place Ministry provided funding to support seven single mothers who were either homeless or were at risk of being homeless!
Atrium Health, Charlotte Therapy Center, Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC), Grace Mar, and Wellness NC presented workshops for our Family Partners in the past month. Thank you to our partner, Providence Baptist Church, for allowing us to use their space for our first in-person workshop in over a year!
And, to our strategic friends at Social Venture Partners – Charlotte (SVP), who have provided us with marketing expertise, guidance as we grow to serve more families, and amazing Family Liaison mentors who serve so intentionally!

Christian said, “Thank you Families Forward Charlotte for providing a platform to make a difference in my community in a meaningful and lasting way.”
Mike and Debbie Arim are our June Volunteers of the Month! Mike and Debbie have been mentoring one of the families in our Family Success Program since September and we are so grateful for their time and support!
Mike was also the recipient of the Celebration of Our Community nominations at the Charlotte Knight’s game this month! This award recognizes Mike for his commitment to serving the community. Mike was hospitalized last summer after contracting COVID-19. Shortly after his release from the hospital, Mike and Debbie signed up to volunteer their time during Mike’s recovery to Families Forward Charlotte as Family Liaisons.
